WORKSHOP

Noise

Hear Today to Preserve Tomorrow

In the professional world, noise exposure is often seen as a mere nuisance—part of the background that one must learn to live with. Yet its effects are insidious and often irreversible. Progressive hearing loss, tinnitus, concentration difficulties, mental fatigue… the consequences of noise go far beyond simple discomfort.

The “Noise” workshop offers participants a unique and impactful sensory experience. Through immersive simulations, they gain a tangible understanding of what it’s like to live with tinnitus, to lose auditory clarity, or to carry out tasks in a saturated sound environment.

The goal is clear: to trigger lasting awareness of noise-related risks and strengthen prevention practices—both in the workplace and beyond.

OBJECTIVE

Learn how to prevent risks related to noise exposure.

CONTENT

  • Exercise to identify sources of noise
  • Topics covered: physiological and psychological risks of noise, hearing protection
  • Sharing of prevention best practices

FORMAT

  • Coaching : interactive discussions, exercises, role-playing

  • Identify noise-related risk situations in the work environment
  • Experience firsthand the impact of hearing disorders such as tinnitus
  • Learn how to choose, use, and maintain appropriate hearing protection
  • Adopt a proactive approach to all types of noise exposure, even low-level ones
  • Promote a culture of auditory prevention within teams

Educational Approach

The workshop uses an experiential method focused on sensory and emotional engagement:

  • Immersive sound experiences to provoke immediate awareness
  • Simplified, visual educational content to explain core mechanisms
  • Reflective and group-sharing moments to encourage personal commitment
  • Facilitation by a professional specializing in noise-related occupational risks and workplace health

Workshop Programme

1Noise: an underestimated risk

Dynamic introduction with key data:
Using statistics and real-life examples from various sectors, participants become aware of the significant role noise plays in recognized occupational disorders. Links are drawn between noise and fatigue, human error, isolation, stress, and irritability.

Identifying hidden sources:
Facilitated discussions help uncover overlooked sound sources such as blowers, alarms, phones, fans, and background noise—along with their cumulative effects.

2Sensory immersion: experiencing the effects of noise

Headphone-based auditory experience:
Participants complete a simple task while exposed to realistic sound simulations: tinnitus, intermittent noise, constant chatter. The effects on concentration, coordination, and mood are immediately perceptible.

Group debrief:
Everyone shares their reactions. This powerful moment fosters emotional understanding of how hearing impairment can deeply affect both professional and personal life.

3Taking action: effective hearing protection habits

Overview of available protections:
Presentation of various hearing protection devices (custom-molded plugs, passive and active earmuffs, disposable earplugs, banded earplugs), their protection levels, and appropriate uses.

Best practices and common misconceptions:
An interactive exchange challenges beliefs such as: “It doesn’t bother me,” “I can’t hear the danger,” “It’s just for a minute…” Each statement is examined in light of factual evidence.

4Establishing sustainable vigilance

Guided discussion:
Participants identify practical ways to enhance daily protection: reporting noisy zones, adjusting exposure times, consistent PPE use, and raising alerts when colleagues show signs of hearing issues.

Creating shared reference points:
Based on the roles represented, participants develop concrete measures to improve team-wide prevention: scheduled auditory rest periods, group PPE reminders, awareness posters, etc.

Why is
this workshop essential?

Because noise is a subtle yet damaging hazard—often minimized until it’s too late. This workshop turns auditory prevention into a personal mission.

It enables your teams to:

Physically feel

what it means to “no longer hear normally”

Adopt daily protection habits

that last

Contribute to a healthier acoustic environment

at work

Reduce errors and accidents

linked to auditory fatigue or miscommunication

Preserve a precious capacity-hearing-in

both work and personal life

Conclusion

Hearing can’t be repaired—it must be protected. With this workshop, your teams won’t just leave with information;
they’ll leave with conviction: that one act of prevention today can prevent irreversible loss tomorrow.
